Dr. Mohammad Ali Bhuiyan is an economist, academic administrator, professor, and a recognized international expert in economic and entrepreneurial leadership. He received an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore (IIM-B) in 1983, followed by a second MBA from Georgia State University in 1986. In 1993, he earned a Ph.D. degree in economics/trade from the University of Florida. Dr. Bhuiyan also received advanced leadership training from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Business School, Stanford University, and MIT.

Dr. Bhuiyan's outstanding achievements have earned him a place in Who's Who in America (Millennium edition) and Who's Who in the World. He was recognized as one of "The 100 Most Influential Atlantans of 2014" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and as one of the "Notable Georgians 2015" by Georgia Trend Magazine.

In 2011, Dr. Bhuiyan worked with the Chancellor of the University System of Georgia and the Board of Regents as an ACE Fellow for a year. He also received training from ACE (American Council on Education) on "Preparing for the University Presidency".

With over thirty years of executive-level experience, Dr. Bhuiyan has held administrative leadership positions in academia, business, and non-profit organizations. These positions include Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice President, Vice President, Dean, Chair, Director, and Endowed Chair Professor at esteemed universities in the USA.

Dr. Bhuiyan has served on numerous national and international committees and nonprofit boards, both as a member and chair. For thirteen years, he provided leadership to an annual National Policy Forum on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Higher Education Conference, which brought together university system heads, chancellors, presidents, Fortune 500 CEOs, successful entrepreneurs, high-ranking military officers, and other national and international leaders. He also conducts training programs on leadership development, negotiations, and global business culture.

As a well-traveled individual, Dr. Bhuiyan has lived, worked, and visited over sixty countries on six continents. He has forged connections with notable leaders worldwide and possesses a deep understanding of the complex economic, political, cultural, and religious issues that inform sound economic and foreign policy decisions.

Dr. Bhuiyan is a sought-after expert and has provided media interviews on economic and higher education issues. His insights have been featured on CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and in various magazines, national and local newspapers across the globe. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta (Downtown) and Savannah West.

As a graduate of Leadership Georgia's Class of 1996, Dr. Bhuiyan is married to Shamima, and they have been together for 37 years. They are proud parents of one grown son.
